Punjabi Shaikh and Pakistani Sheikh or Shaikh ( ur, ) are a branch of the
Shaikhs in South Asia. In Punjab, the title ''shaikh'' was given to recent converts to Islam and not to those of Arab descent as a polite euphemism.
