Pike Township was one of the four original townships in the county, formed on November 6, 1827.

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of , of which (or 98.86%) is land and (or 1.14%) is water. The streams of Dry Branch, Foster Branch, Johnson Branch, Jordan Creek and Redwood Creek run through this township.
