, Archbishop Max Leroy Mesidor of Port-au-Prince, and President of the Bishop Conference in Haiti, said: “It is still uncertain whether the explosion was caused by a gas leak or a criminal act. The police are investigating, but they believe it seems to be a gas explosion. Bishop Dumas underwent surgery yesterday. The blast was strong and caused serious burns to Monsignor Dumas’ face, arms, and legs”.
