, Feely started out with
non-league club
Enfield, with whom he gained three
England Amateur caps. He scored in the final as Enfield beat Dagenham to win the 1970
Amateur Cup, and three days later signed professional forms for
Chelsea. He scored on his debut in a 2–1 win over
Coventry City in April 1971. However, Feely was competing for a place in the starting line-up with players including
Peter Osgood,
Ian Hutchinson and
Tommy Baldwin, and made five first team appearances in two and a half years. He was sold to
Bournemouth
