Name and history

Established on May 8, 1823, it is the oldest township in Wood County. It is the only Perrysburg Township statewide. Perrysburg Township was named after the City of Perrysburg (created in 1816), which in turn was named for Commodore

The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1.
