Pavan Sadineni

Pavan Sadineni is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works for Telugu cinema. He has directed films like Prema Ishq Kaadhal (2013), Savitri (2016) and Senapathi (2021). He also directed web series for OTT like ''PillA''  (2017), ''Ee Office Lo'' (2018), Commitmental (2020) and blockbuster series Dayaa (2023). For his work on Senapathi and Dayaa, he was awarded for "Best Director" at the OTT Play awards.

Early Life

Pavan Sadineni was born on May 25, 1988, in Vijayawada. Pavan's father, S.V. Ramana, is into Building construction business, while his mother, S. Lakshmi, is the owner of a boutique. Pavan received his early education at Siddhartha School, Vijayawada. Following his higher secondary education, he enrolled at J.B.I.E.T, Hyderabad, where he obtained his B.Tech degree before pursuing further studies in the U.S.A., specializing in Computer Science and earning an M.S. degree.

During his professional journey, Pavan Sadineni contributed his skills as a software developer at Apple Computers. Despite a successful career in the tech industry, Pavan's childhood aspiration to work in the field of movies remained steadfast. His eternal dream involved collaborating with the renowned director Mani Ratnam. To realize this ambition, Pavan pursued post-graduate studies and worked as an intern at a film school in the U.S.A., marking significant steps towards fulfilling his cinematic aspirations.

He played cricket at district level.

Career

Pavan Sadineni, driven by his early passion for storytelling, authored numerous stories that fueled his aspiration to become a director. In the initial phase of his career, he directed several short films, including notable works such as "Interview", " "Love Formula 31," and Bewars". Pavan's directorial portfolio boasts around ten short films, with his debut work being "Toorpu Padamara."

Pavan's breakthrough came with his short film "Bewars". Following this success, in 2013, producer Bekkem Venugopal approached Pavan to direct "Prema Ishq Kaadhal". This is Pavan's debut film. The film proved to be a turning point in Pavan's life, receiving acclaim for his directorial prowess. "Prema Ishq Kaadhal," a romantic comedy, featuring Harshvardhan Rane, Harish Varma, Sree Vishnu, Ritu Varma, Vithika Sheru and Sree Mukhi in lead roles, with Pavan contributing to the story and dialogues.

In 2014, Pavan signed on to direct "Savitri" with Nara Rohit, a family drama scheduled for release on March 25, 2016. Pavan, known for his multifaceted roles, typically assumes responsibility for writing the story, dialogues, and screenplay in his projects, including short films. Pavan efficiently strategizes his film promotions with unique social media content and theatrical trailers.

In 2017, Pavan debuted with a Mini Web Series title PillA, a Sci-fi Thriller starring Dhanya Balakrishnan. Though the series was released during the initial stages of OTT content production, the series received a wide applause from both the critics as well as the audience.

In 2018, Tamada Media, the production company which produced PillA was impressed with Pavan's economical utilization of resources and entertaining the audience joined hands to produce Ee Office Lo, a New-age drama. The Series which was released in Viu was well received by the audience.

In 2020, Tamada Media, Aha and TVF joined hands to produce Commitmental, a Rom-com and a remake of most successful Hindi Web-series Permanent Roommates. This was released during Diwali, 2020 and received a wide applause from audience.

On December 31st, 2021, Senapathi starring the legendary actor, Rajendra Prasad was released in Aha, a Telugu OTT Platform. Though it is remake of Tamil film, 8 Thottakkal and was produced with a minimum budget, the movie was filled with stellar performances and authentic visuals.

After portraying Rajendra Prasad in a dynamic role, Pavan was reached by SVF , a prominent Bengali production house, for introducing their product in Telugu. They chose to produce a Bangladeshi series Taqdeer in Telugu which was titled Dayaa. Starring the prominent actor J.D.Chekravarthy, the thrilling Web-series of 8 episodes was released on 4th August, 2023 with 8 episodes in 7 languages. The series was released in Disney+Hotstar. This edge of the seat Thriller gone viral in the OTT platform and was received positive in all the languages. Pavan was awarded as "The Best Director" by the OTT Play Awards, 2023.
