It was first proposed in 1976 and opened in 1977 with JCPenney, Kmart and Bostwick's as its anchor stores. Bostwick's became Herberger's in the mid-1990s. The Kmart store closed in 2012 and became a Hobby Lobby. Kohl's also opened in part of the former Kmart on September 30, 2016. On April 18, 2018, it was announced that Herberger's would be closing as parent company
