Following the failure parliamentary election, Nohlen, D & Stöver, P (2010) ''Elections in Europe: A data handbook'', p. 899. the national congress of the Patriotic Electoral Coalition declared its disestablishment on 4 August 1990. Following that some members of the HVK decided to found the Democratic Coalition Party (DKP).
