The median age was 42.9 years (compared with 37.4 years nationally), with 411 people (18.1%) aged under 15 years, 393 (17.3%) aged 15 to 29, 1,077 (47.5%) aged 30 to 64, and 390 (17.2%) aged 65 or older. Ethnicities were 83.6% European/Pākehā, 13.6% Māori, 6.9% Pacific peoples, 8.7% Asian, and 1.5% other ethnicities (totals add to more than 100% since people could identify with multiple ethnicities).
