The planning application for Octagon was submitted to
Birmingham City Council Birmingham City Council is the local government body responsible for the governance of the City of Birmingham in England, which has been a metropolitan district since 1974. It is the most populated local council area in the United Kingdom (e ...
in October 2020. Octagon was unanimously approved by the Council in April 2021, with 11 votes for and 0 against. A Section 106 agreement between the Council, Paradise Circus Limited Partnership and Britel Fund Trustees was signed in August 2021. Construction of the building commenced in March 2022.
