History
Nysted was founded in 1883. A majority of the early settlers being natives of Denmark caused the name
Nysted
Nysted is a town in Guldborgsund Municipality in Region Zealand on the southeastern coast of the island of Lolland in south Denmark. Nysted is located on the southern coast of Lolland, and has a population of 1,292 (1 January 2022). to be selected.
A post office was established at Nysted in 1883, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1918.
