''The Northern Herald'' was a weekly paper that ran from 11 April 1913 to 30 December 1939. On 28 December 1935 the ''Northern Herald'' incorporated the ''Cairns Daily Times''. In December 1939 the ''Northern Herald'' was absorbed by the ''Cairns Post''.
