Niranam diocese is created in 1876 with 22 parishes. First Metropolitan of the diocese was Parumala Mar Gregorios who was later declared by the Holy Synod in 1947 as the saint of the church. Parumala Seminary was the first Diocesan Headquarters. Today there are 76 parishes and 6 chapels in the
