, Kaltsas started his career in the youth squad of his local club. He signed his first professional contract in 2007 after coming through his local club's youth ranks and has remained with Veria every season. After seven years, playing as a team regular, Kaltsas decided to leave the club and join Panathinaikos on a free transfer, as he didn't renew his contract which was set to expire on 30 June 2015. The player will join his new club on July 1, 2015. In the beginning of 2014–15 season he was named as the first vice captain of the club. Any Greek footballer aims to play abroad and Kaltsas is not an exception and has so far reached twice from making his dream a reality. He was also a part of AEK's transfer list, though financial differences, regarding his contract, didn't allow the transfer to be completed. On 23 January 2019, Kaltsas scored in a dramatic 5–3 home win against AEL for the Greek Cup round of 16. His team won 7–6 on aggregate and qualified for the quarter finals of the contest. On 23 February 2019, he scored in an eventual 1–1 home draw against Atromitos. On 13 May 2019, he signed a new contract, running until the summer of 2022.
