A right-arm seamer from Karachi, Jalal-ud-Din played only seven other one-dayers and six Tests. Niaz Stadium celebrated staging Test cricket's 1000th match. In addition, Pakistan has never lost any match, whether a test or one-day, at this ground.

The inaugural first class match was played at Niaz Stadium between South Zone v Pakistan Education Board (PEB) on 16–18 March 1962.
