Ethnicities were 87.3% European/Pākehā, 19.9% Māori, 3.0% Pacific peoples, 2.6% Asian, and 1.2% other ethnicities (totals add to more than 100% since people could identify with multiple ethnicities). The median income was $27,200, compared with $31,800 nationally.
