he has developed methods to test whether pertinent rules of the game have differential effects on different firms depending on their age, size, industry, ownership structure and capital intensity. Throughout the 1990s he conducted several projects aimed at explaining cross-country growth differences, and more specifically he also tried to explain Sweden's slow growth relative to other countries from the late 1960s until the mid-1990s. In all the above fields he has published extensively both in international journals and in Sweden. Since the late 1980s he has been involved in the Swedish policy debate.
