. Its capital is the village of Murcheh Khvort. At the National Census of 2006, its population (as a part of the Central District of the former Borkhar and Meymeh County) was 2,876 in 949 households. There were 2,263 inhabitants in 764 households at the following census of 2011, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Shahin Shahr and Meymeh County. At the most recent census of 2016, the population of the rural district was 2,198 in 758 households. The largest of its 39 villages was Murcheh Khvort, with 1,369 people.
