Geography

Montagny has an area, , of . Of this area, or 57.2% is used for agricultural purposes, while or 33.7% is forested. Of the rest of the land, or 8.2% is settled (buildings or roads), or 0.3% is either rivers or lakes and or 0.5% is unproductive land.
