), who currently works as a professional coach. He is well-known for his presence in Persepolis, which is a successful Iranian professional soccer club based in Tehran, with a record of 14 Iranian league titles, 6 Hazfi Cup titles, 2 Super Cups, one Asian Cup Winners Cup in 1991 and the finalist of the AFC Champions League in 2018 and 2020. Mohsen used to play for #Persepolis from 1987 to 1997, as well as 12 appearances for the Iranian national team. He has also played for Al-Ittihad Qatar (presently called Al-Gharafa) as an international and professional player. Although he scored 20 goals in 170 games for Persepolis, his prominence lies in his extraordinary capability of accurate passes on the pitch, where his 147 assists made him the all-time best assist maker in the history of the Iranian soccer league. The statistics suggest that he has approximately assisted once a game, and his 7 assists in the match against Punjab, Pakistan (Asian Cup Winner’s Cup) on 21 December 1990, is an interesting record. Even though Mohsen’s experience as soccer coach dates back to 1995 as the Persepolis’ player-coach for only one match, his major experience initiated in Persepolis (U23) from 2001 to 2004, and continued with Persepolis (U19) from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, he Joined Samand, which was the Paykan’s second level team, followed by his next role in Paykan, 2008-2009. His next challenge in 2010 was in Pas Hamedan, which lasted one year, and then, he returned to Persepolis in 2011, accompanied by his appearance in Asian Champions League (ACL) in 2012. Mohsen Ashoori’s job in Persepolis terminated after 14 months, and his re-appearance in Pas Hamedan was from 2013 to 2014. In the same year, he worked for Khuneh Be Khuneh in the north of Iran. From 2017 to 2021, Mohsen has worked as head coach for Shahrdari Fouman, Khusheh Talaei Saveh, Badaran Tehran and Kheybar Khorramabad. Mohsen’s practical professionalism in the soccer career, as the result of his long and diverse experience, both as player and manager, is enriched by his interest in theoretical knowledge in this field. Highly interested in working with the youth, he believes "no improvement is possible unless you invest on the youth." Mohsen possesses AFC A License and presently lives in Vancouver, Canada.
