Political career
Al-Huwaila worked as an assistant professor before being elected for the first time into the National Assembly in 2008. After that he was elected into office multiple times in 2009, 2013, 2016, 2020, 2022, & 2023. In 20 June 2023, Al-Huwaila won the seat of controller in the National Assembly unopposed.
