, It operates fixed-route bus routes in the city. A 1977 built Minot City Transit bus, constructed by the American Motors General Metropolitan and modeled after a Canadian bus, was donated to the Midwest Bus Museum in 2021.


History

Minot began running public transportation sometime in the 70s with buses branded as “City Bus” The original fleet consisted of a number of 1977 AM General Metropolitan buses that had a Blue, White, and Green branding.


General Information


Transit service

Standard fixed-route transit service is provided on six routes, with three routes departing half-hourly from the central stop at Minot City Auditorium. Hours of operation are from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Buses operate on a flag-down system, meaning that bus will stop at any street corner when waved down by a rider.

Northwest - The Northwest route serves the central and west portions of North Hill. The route serves the areas of Downtown, Upper Brooklyn, University Heights, Glacial Point, Highlands at North Hill, Terrace Heights, and Lakeview. Formerly the “North” route. -Stops: Transfer (Minot Municipal Auditorium), University Ave & 4th St NW, 21st Ave NW & 16th St NW, Landmark Circle, Marketplace Foods North Hill, 8th St NW, and Transfer Station North Central The North Central route serves the central and southeast portions of North Hill and west portions of The Valley. The route serves the communities of Downtown, Upper Brooklyn, University Heights, Glacial Point, Polaris Park, and western portions of Lakeview. -Stops: Transfer (Minot Municipal Auditorium), University & 8th St NW, 20th Ave NW, Polaris Park, 3rd St NE, Central Campus, and Transfer Station South1 The South 1 route serves the central and southwest portions of The Valley and South Hill -Stops: Transfer Station, South Broadway & 20th Ave SW, Dakota Square Mall, Cashwise, Walmart, 16th Ave SW, and Transfer Station South2 The South 2 route serves the central and southeast portions of The Valley and South Hill -Stops: Transfer Station, Henry Towers, T&C Shopping Center, South Hill Complex, 16th Ave SE & 2nd St SE, 13th St SE, 33rd Ave SE & 1st St SE, 19th Ave SW & 4th St SW, Jim Hill, and Transfer Station East The East route serves the east portions of The Valley and western portions of Nedrose -Stops: Transfer Station, Henry Towers, T&C Shopping Center, Burdick & Valley St, ND State fairgrounds, 27th St SE & El Rio Dr, Holiday Village, 37th St SE, 16th St SE, Central Campus, and Transfer Station West The West route serves east and west portions of The Valley -Stops: Transfer Station, Jim Hill, Magic City Campus, 2nd Ave SW & 16th St SW, Leach Park, 7th Ave NW & 16th St NW, Job Corps, MSU/University Ave, 9th Ave NE & 5th St NE, Central Campus, and Transfer Station *North (Northwest) The current North route serves the central and west portions of North Hill. The route serves the communities of Downtown, Upper Brooklyn, University Heights, Glacial Point, Highlands at North Hill, Terrace Heights, and Lakeview. The North route will be renamed to the Northwest route when the new North route begins service in Minot.
