Personal life

Mavi's father was a hip hop producer and a gospel quartet singer. He had a child before they passed away while he was on tour. Mavi was a neuroscience major at Howard University when he dropped ''Let the Sun Talk.'' He dropped out once he saw how much interest his music was garnering.
