. At the 2006 National Census, the region's population (as a parts of the former Kelardasht District) was 16,077 in 4,333 households. The following census in 2011 counted 17,170 people in 5,049 households, when Marzanabad District had been formed from two rural districts and the city of Marzanabad. At the latest census in 2016, the district had 20,318 inhabitants in 6,743 households, by which time Kelardasht District had separated from the county to establish Kelardasht County.
