Geography
Before the merger, Martisberg had a total area of . Of this area, 42.2% is used for agricultural purposes, while 41.2% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 3.7% is settled (buildings or roads) and 13.0% is unproductive land.
The former municipality is located in the Östlich Raron district, on the northern slopes of the Rhone valley.
