Public service and awards

She participated in the Executive Committee of the ''Latin American Studies Association'' from 2001 to 2004, and was the president of the Brazilian Political Science Association from 2004 to 2008. In 2009, she was elected the vice-president of the ''Latin American Studies Association'', with a term lasting until 2010, at which point she became the president of the association.
