Education and career

Teesson holds a BSc (Psychology)(Hons) and PhD (Psychiatry) from the University of New South Wales. Her 1995 PhD Thesis was "An evaluation of mental health service delivery in an inner city area". She is the author of more than 280 publications, and her work has been cited more than 9,000 times. In 2018 Teesson launched an innovative eHealth program at the University of New South Wales to target the six main lifestyle risk factors among teenagers, including binge eating and unhealthy eating, to help prevent chronic disease.


Awards and recognition

In recognition of her achievements in education, research and mentoring, Teesson received the 2013 UNSW Faculty of Medicine Dean's Award for Outstanding Achievement. Teesson went on to win the 2014
