units and a naphtha reformer. Given this configuration, the plant likely follows a 10-5-3-2 crack spread, meaning that for 10 barrels of crude feed stock the refinery produces 5 barrels of gasoline, 3 barrels of distillate, and 2 barrels of fuel oil. Finished products are shipped through a third-party pipeline system that serves western Washington and Oregon.
Explosion
On April 2, 2010, an explosion at the Anacortes refinery killed seven workers when a heat exchanger failed during startup after a maintenance operation.
