Ukraine. The administrative center of the raion was the
urban-type settlement of
Manhush (until 1995 ''Pershotravnevyi''). The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Donetsk Oblast to eight, of which only five were controlled by the government. The area of the former Manhush Raion was merged into the newly created
Mariupol Raion. The last estimate of the raion population was .

Verkhovna Rada adopted a decision to rename Pershotravnevyi Raion to Manhush Raion according to the law prohibiting names of Communist origin.
