The village is Ward 9, under Chief Maranda with headman Chizivano Magomana as the leader of the village. The village falls in Mwenezi West constituency for the 2008 elections.

Roads & Transport

The basic mode of transport in village is by donkey cart. Families use the donkey-carts to travel to business centers like Sarahura, Sengejira, Chaoma and Maranda to shop and have their dried maize ground by the grinding mills. There is a gravel road that joins the Sarahura in the north with Maranda is the south that passes at the edge of the village. The bridge at Mwenezi River just before the village, was destroyed by floods due to
