Lahore School of Economics is a recognized college by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.


History

The Lahore School of Economics was founded by Dr. Shahid Amjad Chaudhry, a McGill University trained economist, who served as the deputy chair of the influential Planning Commission of Pakistan.


Campus

The Lahore School has two campuses: the 'Main campus' and the 'City campus'. The Main campus is located on the intersection of DHA Phase VI Main Boulevard and Burki Road, spread over and the city campus is located in Gulberg 3, Lahore.


Academics

The Lahore School's academic programmes include Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Mathematics and Statistics, Environmental Sciences and Media Studies, Art and Design. The School offers both Graduate and Undergraduate programmes within the specialized faculties, departments and research centres. The Lahore School of Economics consists of two distinctive institutes, the Graduate Institute of Development Studies, which carries out research and training in international development, and the Centre for Research in Economics and Business, which publishes the Lahore Journal of Economics as well as the Lahore Journal of Business. LSE is considered to be one of the best business schools in Pakistan, and its graduates are higher in demand in multinational companies and banking sector.
