At the 2010 census, the township was 76.1% non-Hispanic White, 3.8% Black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 1.8% Asian, 0.1% Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, and 1.8% were two or more races. 17.6% of the population were of Hispanic or Latino ancestry. At the 2000 census there were 5,265 people, 1,633 households, and 1,365 families living in the township. The population density was 305.9 people per square mile (118.1/km). There were 1,633 households, 46.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.2% were married couples living together, 6.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.4% were non-families. 13.0% of households were made up of individuals, and 4.3% were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 3.12 and the average family size was 3.39.
