Montana High School Association The Montana High School Association (MHSA) is the governing body of high school athletics in the state of Montana. It was founded in 1921 and today consists of 180+ member schools. Classification The MHSA divides schools based upon their total enr ...
is the governing body of high school athletics. Schools are assigned a class to determine athletic competitions. As of 2023, the enrollment criteria for each class is: 801 and up for Class AA, 301-800 for Class A, 101-300 for Class B and 1-100 for Class C.
