Work and education

In 2003, Kahn received an A.B. in economics with honors from the University of Chicago. She received an M.A. and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University in 2005 and 2008, respectively. Afterwards, she became an assistant professor of economics at Yale School of Management, where she taught competitive strategy and the internal organization of the firm, the employee perspective, and freakonomics. From 2010 to 2011, Kahn served as a senior economist in President Obama's Council of Economic Advisers. There, she focused on labor and education policy. From 2011 to 2012, she was also a visiting fellow at the
