was first mentioned in 1263 in historical records. Its traditional name was ''Sv. Ján'', "St. John" (Latin: ''Sanctus Johannes'', Hungarian: ''Sz.-János'', later ''Szent-Ivány''), after the local church. "Saint" was removed by the communist authorities in 1960.
