Liangyuan District () is one of the two districts of the city of
Shangqiu,
Henan province. The name Liangyuan, or "the garden of Liang", follows from the name
Prince Xiao of Liang
Liu Wu (刘武) (–144 BC), posthumous name, posthumously named Prince Xiao of Liang, was a Han dynasty, Han kings of the Han Dynasty, prince. He was a son of Emperor Wen of Han, Emperor Wen and Empress Xiaowen of Han, Empress Xiaowen, ...
, who built the garden around 154 BC centered in the area of nowadays Shangqiu. At present, Liangyuan district hosts the government of Shangqiu city.
