History

Lake Village was laid out in 1876. The town did not grow much until the railroad was built through it in 1905. A post office has been in operation at Lake Village since 1876.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 29.9% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 20.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females, there were 96.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.4 males. The median income for a household in the CDP was $39,474, and the median income for a family was $50,179. Males had a median income of $50,161 versus $21,688 for females.
