of two subvarieties of The Hague dialect. The posher variety called ''dàftig'', ''Haegs'' or ''bekakt Haags'' is spoken roughly north of it, whereas a low-class variety called ''plat Haags'' or ''Hèègs'' is spoken roughly south of the Laan van Meerdervort.
