. Szittya was part of the Hungarian team which won the silver medal in the 1948 tournament. He played six matches and scored six goals. Four years later he was a member of the Hungarian team which won the gold medal in the Olympic tournament. He played three matches and scored five goals. After his active sport career he was a water polo coach in Hungary and Cuba. In 1969 he became a member of the Hungarian Olympic Committee and received a Master Coach Award.
