Alexander attended LSU from 2012 to 2014. As a true freshman, he played in seven games with two starts and had 12 tackles. As a sophomore, he started nine of 13 games. On March 16, 2021, the Saints released Alexander. However, the team brought him back on August 3, 2021 after signing a one-year deal worth up to $3 million.
