History

In early 1970s Kukarmunda was located on the banks of river Tapi and small village in Nijhar Taluka, due to problem of floods Government of Gujarat relocate the village 4KM far from Tapi river Banks.Kukarmunda is Holy place because it is Birth place of Santoji Maharaj it was said that he is freedom fighter and also went to jail because of freedom struggle.Kukarmunda is famous for the gregarious idols of Hanumanta which was presented by Tulsidasji to janjasvant swami. In year 2014 Gujarat Chief Minister Smt.Anandiben Patel took visit in Kukarmunda and she announced Kukarmunda as new Tehsil of Tapi district and separated from Nizar Tehsil.

Ramnavmi Celebration: Kukarmunda is vary famous for Ramnavmi celebration the hanumanta idol presented by Tulsidasji to Janjasvant swami is present in Ram Mandir of Jasvant Chowk. Every year at evening people came to worship the idol and at night, people guarded ( હુંબી ચોકી)and some do guarding by sitting (બેઠેલી ચોકી). At early morning 4:00 AM one person gets up himself as Lord Hanumanta and then Prasad is distributed to all and the ceremony ends. Saint Dagaji Maharaj Dindi: Every year pilgrims travels from Chopala (Maharashtra) to Asha(Gujarat). One night they stay at Kukarmunda. Dashavtar: Every year Dashavtar celebrated in Kukarmunda in Swami Samartha Temple area there are holy wooden mask of lord Hanuman, Garuda, Varah Avtar, Nursing Avtar, Ambe Mata and Mahisasur were worn by people's this was going on for about 8–10 days in night and on last day Mahisasur and Ambee Matas fight occurs. It was believed that wooden mask were found from banks of river Tapi but after COVID-19 it was stopped. Tripurari Poornima Celebration This day is come in days of Diwali in Holy Shiva Temple people meet up at evening to worship Loard Shiva. Khandoji Maharaj Palkhi Khandoji Maharaj took Samadhi in kukarmunda Every year in early morning from Khandoji Maharaj Temple palkhi was decorated and it travelled in whole village in early morning people worship idol of Khandoji Maharaj. Kukarmunda Fair Kukarmunda Fair is very famous held in April month every year it goes for 5 to 7 days. Traditional Festival Majority population of Kukarmunda is Adivasi so many Traditional festival was celebrated by regional people in their regional dresses and languages.
