Name

Križate was attested in historical sources as ''Krisacz'' in 1420, ''Krisant'' in 1430, and ''Krysat'' in 1436.


Church

The local church is dedicated to Archangel Michael and belongs to the Parish of Peče. It was a Gothic building that was largely rebuilt in the 18th century with only the sanctuary and the lower level of the belfry preserved from the original church.Slovenian Ministry of Culture register of national heritage
