History

The project was launched in 2006 as an initiative between
Korea Forest Service The Korea Forest Service (KFS; ) is a central administrative agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFR), responsible for protecting and nurturing forests, increasing forest resources, developing forest products, con ...
and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia when a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two sides. In 2008, the forestation work began.


Geography

The forest covers an area of 3,046 hectares.


Trees

As of 2024 more than 800,000 trees had been planted, which consist of 23 species.
