Kissimmee station was originally built as a
South Florida Railroad The South Florida Railroad was a railroad from Sanford, Florida, to Tampa, Florida, becoming part of the Plant System in 1893 and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in 1902. It served as the southernmost segment of the Atlantic Coast Line's ma ...
Depot 1883, and was also a junction for the
St. Cloud and Sugar Belt Railway The South Florida Railroad was a railroad from Sanford, Florida, to Tampa, Florida, becoming part of the Plant System in 1893 and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad in 1902. It served as the southernmost segment of the Atlantic Coast Line's m ...
and the original Florida Midland Railroad, all three of which were eventually acquired by the

The sheltered low-level Amtrak platform crosses Dakin Avenue and runs as far west as Monument Avenue. An unsheltered asphalt platform continues southwest of Monument Avenue for boarding especially long trains.
