before being drafted. In 1987, Baumgartner led UW-Stevens Point to a NAIA National Championship, but the season was forfeited later due to use of an ineligible athlete. Baumgartner was drafted in the ninth round of the 1990 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005. He also was inducted into the UW-Stevens Point Hall of Fame in 2001.
