From 1991 until 1994, Gál was an advisor to the
Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania. In 1995, she worked as an analyst for the Government Office for Hungarian Minorities Abroad and in 1996 as a researcher for the Teleki Foundation. From 1997 until 2000, she was an international legal expert at the
