Kevin Kern is married to Pamela Gibbs, a former cardiac transplant nurse and product manager for several medical device companies. According to the liner notes of his album, ''Embracing the Wind'', the couple were married in June 2001 on the island of Maui,

After living for several years in San Francisco, they moved to Minneapolis, MN in 2007.
