Kenny And Belinda's Dreamland

Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland is a themed area at the Dreamworld amusement park on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. The area based around Dreamworld mascot and characters as well as characters from certain ABC Kids shows. Phase 1 of the area opened on 31 March 2023, with the area fully opening later in the year. The area replaced the former DreamWorks Experience themed land.

History

The area of Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland was first known as Village Oval. In 2000, the northern portion of Village Oval became Kennyland, a themed area based around Kenny Koala, one of the park's mascots. In 2004 Dreamworld partnered with Nickelodeon and opened the Nickelodeon Central themed area, replacing Kennyland. In 2012, Nickelodeon Central was replaced with the DreamWorks Experience area.

On 24 November 2022, Dreamworld announced a $55m investment to the park, which included Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland, a new themed area to replace the existing DreamWorks Experience area. The area is expected to receive rebranded and refurbished rides and attractions as well as new attractions under the Bananas in Pyjamas, Play School, The Wiggles and traditional Dreamworld branding. Attractions from ABC Kids World will be moved into the new area.

Rides and attractions

Current attractions

* Bananas in Pyjamas Carousel is a traditional carousel ride themed to the show of the same name. The attraction originally opened in 1983 within the former Village Green themed area as simply "''Carousel''". During its Nickelodeon Central days, the attraction had two different names - ''Nick-O-Round'' (2002-2008) and ''Backyardigans Mighty-Go-Round'' (2008-2011), being themed to the show of the same name. During its Kid's World period, the attraction was named simply "''Mighty-Go-Round''". The ride was called '' Shrek's Ogre-Go-Round'' from 2012-2022 as part of the DreamWorks Experience area.

* Bananas in Pyjamas Fun Maze is a maze attraction themed to the show of the same name. The attraction originally opened in 2015 in ABC Kids World before being relocated to Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland in September 2023.

* Belinda's Treehouse is a ball play area themed to Belinda Brown, Dreamworld's secondary mascot. The attraction opened with Nickelodeon Central in 2002 as '' The Wild Thornberrys' Rainforest Rampage'' and was briefly known as ''Rainforest Rampage'' from 2011-2012 during the Kid's World debranding, before being renamed as the ''MAD Jungle Jam'' in 2012 as part of the DreamWorks Experience area.

* Big Red Plane is a rotating plane ride themed to ''The Wiggles''. It is a re-built and re-furbished version of the "''Dronkey Flyers''" ride. The attraction first opened in the former Kennyland area as the ''Dream Copters'' in 2000, and was soon relocated to Nickelodeon Central where it spent a year under the same name and theme before being refurbished into '' Blue's Skidoo'' in 2003. During the Kid's World debranding, the ride was not debranded and kept its ''Blue's Clues'' theme. The attraction was later re-themed again and became the ''Dronkey Flyers'' in 2012, as part of the DreamWorks Experience area.

* The Dreamworld Theatre is a show stage that currently shows the Wiggly Friends Show. The attraction opened with Nickelodeon Central in 2002 as the ''Slime Bowl'', showcasing shows based on Nickelodeon shows. In 2011, it was briefly renamed the ''Dreambowl'' as part of the Kid's World debranding, showcasing a Kenny Koala show, and then again as ''King Julien's Theatre in the Wild'' in 2012 as part of the DreamWorks Experience area, showcasing a ''Madagascar'' show.

* Humpty-Go-Round is a Zamperla kite flyer based on ''Play School''. The attraction opened in 2008 as ''SpongeBob FlyPants'' within the former Nickelodeon Central area, being the only new addition to the area since opening. It was briefly renamed ''Kite Flyer'' in 2011 as part of the Kid's World debranding, and then as ''Gingy's Glider'' in 2012 as part of the DreamWorks Experience area. The ride then had the temporary name of ''Candy Flyer'' as part of the retheme of the former DreamWorks area into the new Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland area until it closed for refurbishment in August 2023. It reopened in mid-September under its new name, ''Humpty-Go-Round''.

* Kenny's Forest Flyer is a suspended family roller coaster themed to Kenny Koala, Dreamworld's primary mascot. The ride first opened with Nickelodeon Central in 2002 as the '' Rugrats Runaway Reptar''. It was briefly known as ''Sky Rocket'' in 2011 before becoming ''Escape from Madagascar'' in 2012 as part of the DreamWorks Experience area. The ride had the temporary name of ''Escape Coaster'' as part of the retheme of the former DreamWorks area into the new Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland area until it closed for refurbishment in late April 2023. It reopened as ''Kenny's Forest Flyer'' in August 2023.

* Play School Wheel is a mini ferris wheel which originally opened in 2018 at ABC Kids World. The ride is in the process of relocation after the closure of ABC Kids World, and is expected to reopen on 9 December 2023.

Future attractions

* The Big Red Boat Roller Coaster is a junior roller coaster themed to ''The Wiggles'' that will be opening in 2023 as part of the area's second phase, and will replace Soaring Swing. It is a Zamperla powered coaster and is the second ''Wiggles'' themed roller coaster to exist, the other being Romp Bomp A Stomp (now Streamliner Coaster) at Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

Former attractions

* Soaring Swing was a swinger ride. The ride first opened in 1982 as the ''Zumer'' and was located in the former Country Fair area (now Ocean Parade). In 2002, the ride was relocated to the new Nickelodeon Central area and renamed as ''Swinger Zinger''. During the Kid's World debranding, the ride was given a repaint but kept its name. In 2012 it was renamed ''Puss in Boots Sword Swing'' as part of the DreamWorks Experience area. It's final name was a temporary name chosen as part of the retheme of the former DreamWorks area into the new Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland area. The ride closed at the end of May 2023 and was dismantled shortly afterwards to make way for the Big Red Boat Roller Coaster.

Facilities

Dreamworld Parents Centre

The ''Dreamworld Parents Centre'' is a parents centre featuring private feeding spaces, kids play areas, reading nooks, microwaves, bottle sanitisers and changing spaces. The centre opened in December 2022, marking the first addition to Kenny and Belinda's Dreamland.
