Väisänen was drafted in the fourth round, 106th overall, by the

. He made his professional debut for TPS during the 2021–22 season. On 2 April 2024, the Rangers signed Väisänen to a three-year, entry-level contract. He joined the Wolf Pack for the end of the 2023-24 season after the end of TPS's season.


International play

Väisänen represented Finland under-18 team at the 2021 World U18 Championships where he recorded one assist in five games. He represented Finland junior team at the 2022 World Junior Championships and won a silver medal.
