KXO-FM has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 50,000 watts, the maximum for most radio stations in the Imperial Valley. The transmitter is off West Villa Avenue in El Centro.

show tunes. In the 1980s, as the audience for easy listening music began to age, more vocals were added until the station switched to soft adult contemporary music. In the early 2000s, the tempo of the music picked up and KXO-FM transitioned to mainstream adult contemporary.
